  1. The potpourri has been going all night and is just what I needed to brighten my mood! Thanks for sharing the recipe! Although it’s as far from real food as it gets, I may try this later with peppermint candycanes for another scent of Christmas – hey, it’ll be better than eating them, right?! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. How wonderful! It definitely made keeping up on the dishes easier for me today, since I didn’t mind being in the kitchen.

The peppermint sounds fantastic, and you can pat yourself on the back for finding a good use for the candy. ๐Ÿ™‚ That made me think of so many more combinations: cocoa powder and peppermint essential oil or cocoa and cinnamon sticks…or chai spice. Mmmmm. So much better than baking when you have food restrictions, plus you don’t dirty the kitchen!

  2. Hi Jennifer, Iโ€™m Anne from Life on the Funny Farm (http://annesfunnyfarm.blogspot.com), and Iโ€™m visiting from the Barn Hop.

This scent potpourri looks wonderful. With a house full of six kids, five dogs, four cats and a couple of caged critters to boot, we are always battling the smells of life. Definitley going to try this!

Anyway, thanks for posting this. If youโ€™ve never visited yet, I hope you can pop by my blog sometime to say hiโ€ฆ

    1. I hope it works for you as well as it does for us! With all of the extra feet in your house, you may want to make a double batch. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I will definitely stop by your corner of the Internet to see just what all of your critters get up to.

  3. Hi, Jennifer! I noticed over at the Waste Not Want Not Wednesday blog hop that we both had posts about making our homes smell good, so I thought I’d stop by and check yours out. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am so excited to read about your continuing healing and your real food journey! I have young kiddos too, and we’re working on real-food-ifying our lives as well. Come by and visit sometime if you’d like at http://mindofthemother.blogspot.com

  4. This is a great recipe. Although it’s over a 100F here, I made up some right away and placed it on the stove. Even though it’s Summer here, it’s still Christmas!

I also added a couple of Nutmeg ends and a star anise. I grate my own nutmeg and am looking for ways to use up the little end bits that are too small to grate. I also used some dried orange slices that were starting to go soft in the potpourri bowl on the table. No waste!

    Thanks for the recipe.

  5. Oooh, I have all this right now, I can’t wait to try it! It looks like it smells wonderful ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks so much for sharing this on Waste Not Want Not Wednesday, Jennifer! I’ve pinned this and look forward to seeing what you’ve been up to this week ๐Ÿ™‚
