  1. I’m glad you are feeling better! I was just wondering, what kind of bacon do you eat? There are so many options: cured, uncured, turkey, etc. Help! 😉

  2. Can you share your recipes for sausage patties and tuna salad?
I would like to know more about your bacon as well. I know it’s all the rage in the real-food, Paleo, WAPF circles, but I’m a bit stuck on what to do about it after reading the article on the WAPF site about blood changes after eating certain types of pork. Have you seen that article? I’m under the impression that it’s best to eat pork that has been marinated or cured, and before introducing pork to my diet, I’d like to be sure I’m comfortable with the type of pork and not doing any further harm to my health. Just wondering what you make of all of it.

    1. I don’t normally write my recipes down, but sausage patties are usually ground beef or ground pork, herbs, and unrefined salt. A pound of meat usually gets about 2-3 teaspoons of fresh herbs (rosemary, sage, and thyme are the the most common ones I use) and 1-2 teaspoons of unrefined salt. The ingredients for the tuna salad are in the picture description in the link, but I’m not sure of the amounts I used.

I have read that article and additional studies on the effects of pork on the cells, but there has been no long-term studies or obvious damage from centuries of eating pork. My daughter and I are the proverbial canaries in the coal mine, and neither of us feel any negative effects from eating pastured pork. I also rotate my foods, so we don’t eat it more than a couple of times a week. It’s not very scientific, but I notice distinct advantages to my metabolism so I will continue to eat it. 🙂

  3. Have you heard of NAET acupuncture? It will help lower the number of food allergies. I have been using for 3 years. Went from 25+ food intolerances, down to 14. There are some foods it does not work with, such as gluten and dairy, which will be off my list forever. But my acupuncturist was able to normalize my blood pressure, which food allergies were causing to go through the roof. Of course doing autoimmune Paleo SCD helped a lot also. Honey is my bain though. My candida issues love it and I do organic coffee with coconut oil and coconut cream and Canadian Honey from Tropical Traditions. I am a teacher and I am still tired a lot of days, as we are gone from the house 12 hours a day as long distance commuters. It is the discipline thing that gets me on some days. Haven’t started the fermented foods as I don’t have the time. I do Inner Eco Coconut Kefir and digestive enzymes as well as lots of coconut oil and products. Currently, I am paying the piper for having a brownie that made it’s way into our home. I will be glad when the poison gets out of my system. Having nightly detox baths and finishing up the latest batch of meat/bone broth-I cook it 24+ hours and I have to add spices, at least black pepper and Celtic sea salt.

    1. We have tried it in the past on my daughter, but it wasn’t the right route for us. We only had one appointment with the wrong practitioner (we didn’t vibe well), and weren’t able to get back in to see her or get any other practitioner in the are to call us back. I decided to listen to the Universe after that and set aside the idea for the time. At this point, I will wait until we’re are finished with foundational healing and then try NAET again for the deep allergens that cause uncommon symptoms – eggs for me, citrus for my daughter -.

That said, NAET produces amazing results for so many people as long as it’s part of a holistic healing protocol that includes gut healing. I love energetic healing.

I hear you on keeping up with discipline. It’s actually my main focus at the moment. Time to permanently retrain old habits. 🙂

  4. My main problem with NAET is the cost. Insurance does not cover it and IT does COST! LOL! The holistic approach and GUT healing is imperative. For my personal route, I also have HUGE candida issues (where the discipline thing comes in) CAN I really avoid all types of SUGAR including my go to — honey, for 6-9 months in order to permanently get rid of CANDIDA. It was candida that started this gut cycle. A couple of doctors mistakenly thinking I needed to live on antibiotics for chronic candida and UTI infections—destroyed my gut. I have learned the correct routes now, but sticking with it—-is tiring. On a positive note—-try this paleo friendly main dish—uncured ham, fried with coconut oil and lemon juice (didn’t have orange juice) and lemon is detoxing with pineapple chunks on medium heat with pepper and ground cloves. The ground cloves really make this delicious. DH said it was a top three meal—high rating indeed, lol! Have a great evening and we will encourage one another to stick to this because we know how good we feel when we follow our protocols and how rotten we feel when we don’t.

    1. Candida is usually a main symptom of heavy metal toxification. I address yeast, bacteria, viral, and parasitic issues as one of the last parts of a protocol, because digestion needs to be normalized and the liver detox pathways need to be opened first.

Thank you for the recipe! I’m sure my readers will be very happy to have another delicious recipe to add to their arsenal. 🙂

      1. This is something I haven’t heard of—–the heavy metal toxification with candida. Can you give me a route to research that led to this? How does one address the liver detox pathways? My acupuncturist can clear some of my pathways if we are talking about the same pathways? And I am hoping that my digestion is getting normalized with eating Paleo. Any recipes that I come up with are free for all as I don’t consider myself that great a cook. What is the protocol that you are talking about? I apologize for so many questions as I am new to your blog.
