And the true random rambles of brain fog set in…
Today, we are getting slightly cranky. Katie is more short of patience than I am, but I’m also feeling detox creeping in a bit. I feel like San Francisco with the brain fog that is sweeping over my head. I’m happy to note that I want to play with her today more than I have in quite awhile (I’m often ‘wrong’ no matter how I play the last few weeks or, as soon as we set something up, she’s onto another activity). She’s playing more and using her imagination very well today, so I think she’s definitely over the virus. The bellyaches not so much. Very frustrating when the foods that are supposed to help make her belly hurt.
We both had a water detox bath today. Mine felt luxurious and very welcome. I used Dr. Bronner’s lavendar soap for the first time and it was wonderfully calming. I normally use the unscented for bathing and peppermint for cleaning. Lavendar is definitely my new go to soap for an evening bath. The bedroom smelled wonderful when we went to bed. Katie is feeling very good after her bath, happy and running around. She’s felt hungry but only eats a couple bites at a time. The dark circles under her eyes that return with trialing grains and some packaged foods (like cereal and potato chips) are quite dark as the day goes on. Mine are still a bit puffy underneath, have darkness in the corners close to my nose, and are slightly purple under that (new signs of food intolerance since starting GAPS; I used to always have complete undereye circles and some puffiness). I’ll take it as a good sign of detox that hers are getting darker as the toxins release. Milk thistle starts tomorrow for more liver support.
Hyperactive is the word of the day. Holy moley. Katie got more whiny as the day went on but stayed hyper, usually happens when she’s not feeling her best and she had pent up energy from being sick and resting too much. She needed Colic Calm later in the afternoon and had much more frequent bellaches towards evening.
I surprisingly wasn’t too hungry in the evening and was able to just have an apple about an hour before I went to bed. No serious cravings bothered me today.
