  1. Great post! I bought this book a couple months ago and I love it! I have made the peppermint face wash (love!), one of the toners (fantastic), and a few more items. All of them have been wonderful. My favorite is the sugar scrub (made with brown sugar and cinnamon) – it smells so amazing and works great. I have not yet tried the shampoo or hair shine that you mentioned, but now I definitely want to do so ASAP! Thanks for posting, as it inspired me to get back to this book and try some more recipes. 🙂

    1. Just a quick follow up that after reading your article, I made both the shampoo and hair shine rinse. I LOVE THEM! I have really thick, wavy hair, so I think I may have used too much shampoo – it didn’t feel ‘clean’ after rinsing. However, I used the hair shine rinse, which took care of that problem and left my hair incredibly soft. While I was using organic shampoo and conditioner previously, I will NEVER buy shampoo or conditioner again. LOVE THIS! Thank you!! 😀

  2. I just bought this ebook and the recipes look great. One problem through… I have recently become allergic to coconut oil. Anyone have any thoughts on alternatives that could be used instead?

    1. In beauty products, I almost always choose shea butter but some other options are cocoa butter, beef tallow, or lard depending on the application and how soft you need the end product to be. The best part about having a whole book of tried-and-true recipes is that you can experiment like crazy. 🙂

  3. You’ve convinced me to try it! I’ve tried a lot of homemade recipes that have flopped so I was leery on spending $25 on an ebook. I’m trying to find something, anything that’s good for oily hair that doesn’t contain a bunch of chemicals and leave my hair feeling like straw or like the residue hasn’t rinsed out.

  4. When will you be offering the Sweet Orange and Honey Shampoo in your shop, and will it be in a glass bottle? Essential oils probably do better in glass, but I am a bit afraid of that in the shower. I wish someone would invent glass-lined plastic bottles. I love your blog!

  5. I tried the link to buy the ebook but the link is down. Can you repost it. I am interested in the shampoo, conditioner and body butter recipes.

    1. Thank you so much for letting me know Jennifer! You just helped to fix a big error for me and the Mommypotamus. 🙂 It’s working now, and I can’t wait for you to try some of the recipes. The recipes from this book are still the only ones I use besides my DIY healing skin balm. They ROCK.
