  1. I completely agree that this book is a fabulous resource. I bought it a while ago (not on the Super deal discount you mentioned tho) and have found it to be Wonderful. Like you, I kept making modifications on GAPS and stumbled upon this, also surprised that we could actually eat all of the ingredients. We’ve had guests for nearly 2 weeks now, so we’ve fallen off the wagon some (go ahead and try feeding non veggie eating guests sausage and sweet potatoes and greens in the morning….) – but I really notice a significant difference in my youngest son’s eczema and allergy reactions when we follow the rules. “Restrictive”? YES, but Mickey did a fabulous job with mega tasty and easy recipes so it’s completely worth giving it a try if you’re still having troubles. I wish you all the very best luck in healing!

    1. Thank you so much Karen! I’m so happy to hear that the recipes are so delicious because I’m about to go make my first recipe (breakfast sausage).

Enjoy your guests and hop back up on the wagon once things are back to normal. 😉

  2. Hi Jennifer,

I just found your blog through a post by mommypotamus. I’ve been reading your blog for almost two hours now, love it! What I really think is amazing to read is that I had come to a similar conclusion! So good to read someone who is following a similar path 🙂

I was diagnosed with a lot of food allergies a couple of years ago, was allergic to 70 of 90 foods on the blood panel and got so sick on an elimination/provocation trial I wasn’t even able to complete it. I first tried a rotation diet, but since I had so little food I didn’t react to, that didn’t work at all. Then I developed an autoimmune disease in the summer of 2012 and started the GAPS diet in October 2012. It helped a bit, but I still had very regular flare ups.

So a little over two months ago I deleted the last two foods that were not AIP from my diet. Those were eggs and dairy (I only had the GAPS approved raw ghee/butter and raw fermented yoghurt/sour cream). Two days later all my autoimmune symptoms started to clear up! Now I’m working to get in better shape again, because years of illness had left me quite fatigued and brain fogged, but I’m confident that it will get better with time.

I live in the Netherlands and I’m starting a Dutch blog on my journey to health this month, really excited about that! 🙂

    1. What a wonderful story Eva! If you write in English, please be sure to let me know the web address when you start it. I love health journeys.

And yes, it will get better (!!!) because I was in your exact spot a couple of years ago.

      1. No, my website is not in English, I write in Dutch. Maybe sometime in the future I’ll start an English website too, but for the next few years at least I will focus on my Dutch website.

Good to hear that in your experience things will get better 🙂 Now I have to just find some patience 😉
Most of my food allergies and hay fever were not as bad this year as in previous years. The only thing that annoys me is my reaction to pumpkin, because that’s a nice carb source on an AIP but I can only eat it once every few weeks.

        1. Keep me updated! Plantains are a great carb source if you can get them. I love the South American roots. Yucca root made into chips are delicious too.
