  1. I am really interested in reading the specifics of your GAPS journey. I have been looking into it for a while now and still feel a bit confused or conflicted on some aspects as some of the protocol as I understand it goes against the way I know to eat for controlling Candida issues. I will be looking forward to learning what you are doing.

    1. That’s a lot of why I’m revisiting GAPS. We were not able to follow it the first time around with my limited knowledge in how healing and the body works. Approaching it from a practitioner standpoint, I feel much more confident and knowledgeable. We’ll have Q & A sessions as we go along, so hopefully that will help answer conditions and questions that I haven’t addressed.

  2. Jennifer,
How soon will you be accepting clients as a Nutritional Therapist? I agree that the GAPS diet makes total sense, but we too have struggled with it and since going back to work full time (to reach a state of health making this possible is a blessing!) I don’t have the bandwidth to do as much research and could use some guidance.
    Thanks!
    Sally

    1. I’m sorry Sally, but I won’t be accepting clients until 2014. I may start limited consulting services as we get further into the GAPS protocol. I’ll be sure to announce it if I can fit it into my schedule!

      1. Thanks for that information Eileen! I am currently studying for my Nutritional Therapy Practitioner certification under the practitioner who runs the GAPS training for Dr. Natasha, so I feel very blessed to have access to the source. 🙂 I will also be sharing this list with my readers as we gear up and prepare to start the protocol.

  3. Will be following. We have been eating a VERY clean WAP diet for quite a long time. My 3 1/2 yr old who was home birthed and non vax suffers from eczema despite all our nutritional trials. its horrible in the winter. I know she is allergic to commercial dairy, soy, citrus, chocolate, and the mold on grapes. we raise our own chickens, turkeys, pigs, jersey cows, and fruits and veggies. I ferment like crazy, make our own body products and cleaning products. I feel pretty darn informed. Our friends say we are really “healthy” but still this…. did I mention I was dx with MS in ’07 after losing my vision. dont worry its back. I did the drugs but gave them up and have healed with FOOD. so we did GAPS this past winter and things got far far worse for my daughter and my husband and I were quite stressed over it. I would love to see how and why you are going through GAPS again. We did intro for almost 3 months. she never really got past stage 3 as we tried to identify what the issues may be. I dont think God meant for it to be so confusing. Good luck and cant wait to read more!

    1. There will be a lot of conditions that need to be addressed either outside of GAPS or with a sub-protocol, and we’ll address many of them as we go along. I hope it will help you find some answers!

  4. I just found your site a few days ago and I have been basically GLUED to my couch every free moment I have. I can deeply relate to so much about your story and I am curious if you have any information on how the GAPS diet may affect someone without their thyroid. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer 6 years ago and had a complete thyroidectomy. My recovery was handled so poorly by my drs and sadly I was too tired, overwhelmed, and unaware to step in at the time. Conventional medicine is currently my only answer for treating my hormone levels and even though my levels show I’m good I haven’t felt like myself for the last 6 years. Thank you so much for your site – it’s AMAZING and has already made such an impact in my life in just a few short days!

    1. I’m so glad you found your way over! GAPS is a gut healing protocol that helps to regulate the rest of the body systems. You may want to look into the effects of your meds on the gut and gut flora (which would prevent healing), but otherwise there shouldn’t be any problem. It’s all natural and food-based and should be very nourishing to get you back on your feet!

      1. Thank you so much! I just ordered the official GAPS book and cookbook and I can’t wait for it to get here!!! Good luck to you and your family on your next GAPS journey! 🙂
