Can you say incentive?! I have been feeling miserable lately as I eat foods that make me sick like grains and sugar. Last night – knowing the end is nigh -, I polished off about 15 coconut macaroons. Thank goodness I only have about 10-15 more pounds to lose or I would have been absolutely devastated; instead I’m just disgusted. “Betcha Can’t Eat Just One?” Yep. Written for me. This morning? SO SICK. I was so swollen by the time I went to bed that it hurt, and I woke up toeing the line of vomiticious (yeah it’s a word). Once my stomach started to calm down about midday, cramps settled in. C’mon! It’s Halloween and I have a 3 year old daughter. Thank goodness hubs took the day off. It is after 8 pm, and I am finally out of bed. Way to ruin the holiday…but, at the same time, a perfect way to start a health challenge. 🙂 Needless to say, I started back to my diet a day early and my body is thanking me for it.
The following is what I want to focus on during this challenge, so it becomes habit by the end of the challenge. These are all things that I already do but am not consistent with them daily.
oil pulling
dry brushing
exercise – I will list my daily workout in each blog post (the bulk of them will be using Bodyrock.tv)
detox bath (Redmond clay, Bragg raw apple cider vinegar, epsom salt, baking soda, plain water)
juicing
fermented cod liver oil/butter oil (FCLO/BO)
only foods allowed on the GAPS diet [a healing protocol to heal the gut and immune system from chronic illnesses]
herbal teas (mainly nettle, rose hips, and dandelion root)
probiotics
bone broth
raw liver pills
coconut oil
I will be posting daily during the challenge to keep myself on track and to keep me honest. 😀
I will try to include what I ate/drank each day, the things I was able to incorporate from the above list, my workout, and my ruminations on the day including cravings. No holds barred here peeps. I want anyone who reads this and is going through the same thing to know they are not the only ones growling at the fridge or offering narrowed-eyed death looks at their significant others during TV time on those bad days.
Next up…measurements and stats.
