Deja vu? Nah. Doing it again! 

I joined a friend in her group challenge last November called the Eat Clean and Get Lean Challenge. She issues the challenge every six months as a sort of reset to get back or keep on track with healthy living. The requirements are to follow a 30 day food elimination diet (to eliminate potential allergens) and do some form of exercise at least three times a week.

The first time, I was already on the GAPS diet, working out 2-4 times a week (regularly for someone with adrenal fatigue), and needed to remove the illegals that had strong-armed their way back in my diet. Here is the first blog entry for that challenge if you’d like to follow the journey. I spun the requirements into creating a deeper detox as my goal.

This time, I’m a lot further with healing. In February, I adjusted my diet based on my allergy test and rarely have cravings. Clean eating is part of my life now instead of a struggle. If I cheat, it’s never worth it and it doesn’t tail spin into a binge. Sounds like smooth sailing right? dun dun dun. Adrenal fatigue is still kicking my bum. It’s a huge issue. I am healing but much slower than I have the patience for. I thought joining the challenge again would be a great opportunity to add yoga back into my life and remove the grains that we introduced recently. Starch is working well in our diets. Grains are not. It’s important to me to get back to an active lifestyle now that I am healthy enough to enjoy one and take another step further on this healing journey. My focus is yoga three times weekly, a plank position ‘test’ once weekly to gauge my fitness progress, and a diet of meats, fats (animal fats, coconut oil, and cold-pressed olive oil), fruits, and vegetables.

The Facebook support group from the one in November was amazing and some of the best cheerleaders I’ve met yet.
